Transportation

In addition to the crown jewel, Bradley International Airport, our region benefits from:

  • Two-hour interstate highway access to New York City, Boston, Albany and Providence
  • 100 million potential customers within an eight-hour drive representing 1/3 of the total US economy and 2/3 of the Canadian economy and including key market cities such as Washington, D.C., Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Rochester, Buffalo, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec
  • Commuter and freight rail service

An enhanced commuter rail system between New Haven and Springfield, MA is in the planning stages. Two Development League towns, Windsor and Windsor Locks, will have stops on this commuter line and there will be a bus connection from the Windsor Locks station to Bradley International Airport.
