ramps up for CT hiring

Hiring for online retail giant's new Windsor fulfillment facility opening later this year has entered a new phase as its prepares for a likely fall opening.

The Seattle retailer occupies a newly erected 1.5 million-square-foot warehouse-distribution building at 801 Day Hill Road, abutting the Bloomfield town line.

According to the homepage, it's now casting to fill a pair of leadership slots in Windsor: A training-team leader to train or start shift meetings for 20 or more hourly associates; and a data, flow inventory leader to research, analyze and interpret data and trends.

Last November, online Amazon job postings appeared on the Windsor Chamber of Commerce homepage advertising for an operations manager, an area manager and an information-technology manager. None of the past and present job postings specify salaries.

Amazon's local hiring needs indicate the facility is not yet fully operational. Originally, Amazon had indicated to Windsor officials that planned to open the facility last February, only to later push that date back to June.

A fall opening would give plenty of time to prepare for the holiday shopping season. didn't immediately respond to requests for comment.
